Makayla has been selected as one of only ten young leaders worldwide to participate in the AQHLead program, an initiative of the American Quarter Horse Association that supports emerging leaders ages 21–35 who are shaping the future of the equine industry.
The AQHLead program kicks off at the AQHA Convention in March and includes leadership development, mentorship, and industry engagement throughout the year. Being selected is no small thing, and it speaks volumes about Makayla’s commitment and potential.

Congratulations to SQHA Youth Member, Hailey Olson, on making Team Canada for the 2023 AQHA Youth World cup, hosted in Bryan/College Station, Texas, June 29th – July 8th, 2023!
This international event is hosted every two years by a different country and involves teams representing sixteen nations!
Throughout this competition, each country will ride for gold medals in the equestrian events of cutting, reining, horsemanship, ranch riding, trail, hunt seat equitation, hunter under saddle, and showmanship. The American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup is a unique event because competing team members will only few days to get to know and develop relationships with the horses that they will compete on. The host country provides each of the team’s horses for participation in skill developing clinics and the international competition.

Congratulations to Saskatchewan bred horse, JT Risin Sensation, with Kaleb Driggers for Saskatchewan based owner Vaugn Warken! Bred by Diamond K Ranch, JT Risin Sensation won 3rd in Round 1, 1st in Round 2, and finished Reserve Champion at the 2022 American Rope Horse Futurity Association World Championship in Open Heading in Fort Worth, TX.
